Privacy Policy

The short version
Every calculator on Retirement Hub runs entirely in your web browser. We do not collect, transmit, log, or store any number, age, balance, salary, tax rate, Social Security PIA, or any other input you type into a calculator. Close the browser tab and the information is gone.
What we actually collect
- Email addresses — only if you voluntarily opt into our email list via a signup form. Used to send occasional retirement-planning updates. Unsubscribe link in every email. Stored in our email provider (ConvertKit / Mailchimp-class service).
- Aggregate web analytics — standard data (page views, referrers, browser type, country, approximate load time) collected via a privacy-respecting analytics provider. No personally identifying information. No join to calculator inputs.
- Server logs — IP address and user agent for each page request, retained for up to 30 days for abuse prevention and debugging. Not linked to inputs.
- Contact-form messages — if you email us or fill out a contact form, we keep the message to respond.
What we do not collect
- Calculator inputs (balances, ages, PIAs, tax rates — any number you type)
- Calculator outputs (projected balances, recommended withdrawals)
- Checklist check states or quiz answers
- Exported PDFs (generated in your browser, not on our servers)
- Financial account information
- Social Security numbers
Cookies and local storage
Some tools use browser localStorageto remember your progress (e.g., which checklist items you've checked) so you can come back later. This data stays in your browser — it is never sent to us. You can clear it at any time via your browser's privacy settings.
Affiliate and advertising partners
We include affiliate links to brokerages (Fidelity, Vanguard, Charles Schwab, Empower) and display ads via ad networks. Clicking an affiliate link may set a cookie from the partner. Display ads may use cookies for frequency capping and measurement. These are standard industry practices; we do not share your calculator inputs with any partner.
Third parties with access to aggregate data
- Web hosting (Vercel or equivalent) — serves the site, has server logs
- Analytics provider — page-view data only
- Email list provider — only email addresses you explicitly submit
- Advertising networks — cookies they set; we do not share calculator data
California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to access and delete that information, to correct inaccurate data, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Retirement Hub does not sell personal information. To exercise any right, email andrewjgaber@gmail.comwith "CCPA Request" in the subject line. We respond within 45 days.
EU / UK / EEA residents (GDPR)
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and port your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Since we do not collect calculator inputs, this applies primarily to your email address if you subscribed to our list. Email us to exercise any GDPR right.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has submitted information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when practices change or regulations require. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be announced via the email list if applicable.
